How close are you to Algonquin Park?
We are a 20-minute drive to the East Gate of Algonquin Park, the entrance to the trails, museums and other visitor attractions.

Where can we get groceries?
There is a grocery store in Whitney, a 15-minute drive from Hay Lake Cottages. Other grocery stores are located in Barry’s Bay and Bancroft approximately a 45-minute drive to each.

What if we don’t want to cook?
Our cottages have fully equipped kitchens but if you’d like to dine out, here are a few restaurants in the vicinity:
- The Mad Musher (Pub style fare) – located in Whitney (15-minute drive). Phone 613-637-2820
- The Granite (Upscale but relaxed) – located in Bancroft (40-minute drive). Phone 613-332-1500
- Bartlett Lodge (Gourmet dining) – located in Algonquin Park (40-minute drive + reservations are required). Phone 705-633-5543

Do you have Wi-Fi? Mobile coverage?
We have free Wi-Fi in our cottages.

Can we have campfires?
A firepit is located on the point and we provide the wood.

What about laundry?
We do not provide a laundry service. Longer stays can do laundry at the laundromat in Bancroft, Ontario, about a 40-minute drive from Hay Lake Cottages.

Is it quiet there?
We are small and very private at Hay Lake Cottages. Because it is so peaceful here, sound will carry. We ask our guests to please remember 10:00 pm to 8:00 am is quiet time.

Do you allow smoking?
ALLERGY ALERT! Some guests have reported allergies to smoke and as such our cottages and main lodge have a strict non-smoking policy. We provide ashtrays on the screened-in porches and guests may smoke there. Thank you for your understanding.
